Jeep bulletin S2302000001

What it saysService Air Suspension Message In Cluster. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Jeep filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Nov 22, 2024, received Apr 17, 2023, about the suspension — 3 documents under this number: S2302000001 REV. A and 2 more. It names 18 model years (2019–2025). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 18 model years this bulletin names have filed 5,645 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 465 of them name Suspension — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

On the 2019 Jeep Wrangler, the 69 owners who gave an odometer reading for Suspension reported it at a median of 13,000 miles. That figure is one model year’s, not the whole range this bulletin covers — medians from different model years are not averaged.

I own a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. On August 18, 2025, the rear suspension coil detached and fell off in my driveway. I had the vehicle repaired at an authorized Jeep dealership. However, on **August 31, 2025 — just 13 days later — the exact same coil spring detached again, this time while I was driving at freeway speeds.

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee · Suspension · filed with NHTSA Sep 1, 2025

Suspension geometry is wrong causing rapid tire wear and heat. Dealership says it’s normal wear for this car with air ride suspension and engine power. I’ve had the alignment checked multiple times and told it is correct. This is causing excessive wear of the tires and causes a bad vibration like a tire belt is broken.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer · Suspension · filed with NHTSA Aug 9, 2026

While driving on a highway, and also on local roads, a service shifter error message comes up on the dash display. Right after that numerous error lights come on indicating numerous failures along with a check engine light. In addition, the steering locks up making it extremely difficult to steer the vehicle.

2020 Jeep Wrangler · Electronic Stability Control · filed with NHTSA Nov 21, 2019

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Jeep S2302000001 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the S2302000001 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does S2302000001 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 18 model years: 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
