Chrysler warranty extension NEWSLETTER VOL 12 ISSUE 5

What it saysA Addition of 2.0L T4 Long Block or Complete Engine to the Powertrain Service Center (PTSC) Pre-Approval Program NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Chrysler filed this with NHTSA as a warranty extension dated May 21, 2026, received Jun 3, 2026, about the electrical system — 1 document under this number: 112379. It names 11 model years (2017–2027). A warranty extension is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

Engine 2.0L “A Addition of 2.0L T4 Long Block or Complete Engine to the Powertrain Service Center (PTSC) Pre-Approval Program”

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 11 model years this bulletin names have filed 4,386 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 1,369 of them name Electrical System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

On the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, the 211 owners who gave an odometer reading for Electrical System reported it at a median of 27,000 miles. That figure is one model year’s, not the whole range this bulletin covers — medians from different model years are not averaged.

The car totally shut off when driving 20 MPH. Full tank of gas. Brand new car with 5,000 miles on it. Called Chrysler -- they left US abandoned mid-road, they said it would take the 90 minutes. We purchased the top, perpetual warranty. Called aaa who got the car onto a flatbed. But no way to get it off because wheels are locked.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.
