What it saysThis Preliminary information communicates information to to direct dealer to inspect W12RCL?Blunt Cut - Left Rear Cargo Trim wiring if normal SI diagnostics do not correct concern. NHTSA’s full summary ↓
Chevrolet filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Nov 30, 2023, received Dec 18, 2023, about the service brakes. It names 4 model years (2021–2024). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported
Source: NHTSA complaint databaseOwners of the 4 model years this bulletin names have filed 964 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 45 of them name Service Brakes — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.
Bought new and there was a brake pad sensor message immediately that we took it to the dealer several times for and nothing was done other than clearing the code and giving it back. Was in accident 1/24 and it was found that there was a frayed/damaged wire in the break module and break pad sensor that I feel could have led to the accident

Unknown but there was many lights on at the time of brake failure. I was driving home from Florida to NJ with my four young children in the vehicle on a 65mph highway when all these lights came on, the brakes completely stopped working and it told me it was reducing speed to 62mph for safety because the brakes were failed.
2024 Chevrolet Tahoe · Service Brakes · filed with NHTSA Apr 28, 2025 · ODI 11657137
Brake control module failed and is available for inspection. It is still at the dealership as the part needed for repair is backordered. I had trouble braking and steering vehicle putting myself and others at risk but fortunately was in a parking lot at low speed. Problem has been inspected confirmed by dealership only.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Chevrolet PIT6095 a recall?
No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the PIT6095 repair free?
Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every GM warranty extension on file lists the ones GM has filed.
Which vehicles does PIT6095 cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 4 model years: 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
