Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the electrical system. Nothing here is a rate.

Stopped for a red light at a busy intersection with the auto start/stop feature turned on. After releasing the brake pedal to begin driving after the light turned green, the vehicle attempted to start the engine, but struggled and in doing so, the vehicle stalled out.
Incident 1 (Loss of Propulsion in Traffic) - 12/16/25 The vehicle failed to restart immediately after the auto start-stop system attempted to re-engage the engine. Upon attempting to accelerate, the engine did not restart, resulting in a complete loss of propulsion while in active traffic.
After receiving the vehicle from Acura in march 2020 with approximately 49,500 miles and noticed the vehicle was slipping around 20 to 30 miles per hour. My fiancee drove it as well and felt it slipping in a city stop and go under the same speed. We called Acura to complain about the slipping as well as the battery malfunctioning.
Rear back up camera has up to 1 minute delay in activating when I selected reverse. Also delays the safety systems associated with it like cross traffic warnings and collision avoidance

Common questions
Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsWhich Acura MDX years have the most electrical complaints?
2025, 50; 2017, 46; 2019, 41. Raw counts, and an older year has had longer to collect them; by share of each year's own complaints the loudest is the 2025 (47%).
Is there a recall for the electrical system on the Acura MDX?
No recall campaign is filed under this heading on any of these model years. A bulletin is not a recall: it carries no federal duty to repair for free.
When do electrical problems show up on the Acura MDX?
Owners who gave an odometer reading reported it at a median of 20,000 miles across the model years; half of them between 10,000 and 43,000. That is when reports cluster, not the life of a part.
What does NHTSA's "Electrical System" heading cover?
Wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
