My 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB has an unresolved recall (25V487000) issued July 25, 2025 — nearly 10 months ago — with status still listed as remedy not yet available. The recall is classified as URGENT: FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED on NHTSA's website for my specific vehicle.
“My 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 is subject to NHTSA recall 26V073 involving a high-voltage battery defect that may cause a fire. The manufacturer has instructed me to limit charging to 80% and to park the vehicle outside due to fire risk. This significantly reduces the vehicle’s usable range and creates safety concerns.
The contact owns a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, and while starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the charger became inoperable and failed to charge above 80 percent.
