Filed with NHTSA by the people who own these cars, about the body and structure. Quoted as written, with anything identifying removed; unverified reports — what was said, not a finding that it was true.

Driver's side sliding door won't close. The issue actually presented itself the day we purchase it and they service department called it a "hiccup". When trying to close the door, the sensor beeps three times and then reopens.

Sliding doors do no close at times. It is inconsistent and when taken to the dealer they cannot replicate. There are numerous complaints online as well as videos of the issue. I had an issue where the passenger sliding door stopped opening altogether.

Both driver and passenger side rear sliding doors often fail to close using the electric closing system. This is dangerous if not noticed because the doors are not latched. This happens while the vehicle is stationary

Passenger sliding door stuck in open position as the latch has broken. Door will not closed into position. I tried to close using manual and automatic door closing options to no avail. Luckily it happened in my driveway so no injuries or accidents

The sliding rear door on the passenger side does not fully latch, thus the door remains slightly ajar. It remains as such while vehicle is in motion

Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communications

Are body and structure problems common on the 2018 Honda Odyssey?

They are documented: NHTSA holds 97 owner complaints naming the body and structure on this model year (10% of everything owners filed about it), and 32 manufacturer bulletins are filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.

Is there a recall for the body and structure on the 2018 Honda Odyssey?

No recall campaign is filed under this heading for this model year (there are 16 filed under other headings). A bulletin is not a recall: it carries no federal duty to repair for free.

When do body and structure problems show up on the 2018 Honda Odyssey?

Owners who gave an odometer reading reported it at a median of 8,000 miles; half of them between 5,000 and 15,000. That is when reports cluster, not the life of a part.

What does NHTSA's "Structure" heading cover?

Body panels, frame, roof rails, trim and glass as fitted. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
