I was driving on a city street at about 30mph. There was no one in front of me or behind me. Nothing in the road. The orange rectangular brake light came on for no reason, kept flashing and it felt as if the brakes were automatically being pumped, slowing the car down to a compete stop. In addition, I had no control of the steering.

Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsAre brake problems common on the 2019 Honda Accord?
They are documented: NHTSA holds 99 owner complaints naming the brakes on this model year (13% of everything owners filed about it), and 62 manufacturer bulletins are filed under the same heading. No recall campaign is filed under this heading for this model year (there are 6 filed under other headings). A bulletin is not a recall: it carries no federal duty to repair for free.
When do brake problems show up on the 2019 Honda Accord?
Owners who gave an odometer reading reported it at a median of 12,000 miles; half of them between 4,000 and 26,000. That is when reports cluster, not the life of a part.
What does NHTSA's "Service Brakes" heading cover?
The hydraulic brakes, ABS and brake assist. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
