Counts are owner reports to NHTSA, not verified defects, and scale with how many of these were sold; nothing here is a rate. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so “Power Train” means the same area of the vehicle, not one fault.

In April 2021 while driving, the car abruptly when into low power mode. I drove it straight to ford. They pulled the codes and said there was nothing wrong. Ever since then, the car will randomly make a grinding sound, lose power, a wrench flashes and then it goes back to normal.
On multiple occasions while driving at freeway speeds, there have been sudden episodes of power loss and rapid loss of speed associated with harsh transmission downshifts. These events sometimes occurred on slight uphill grades and also on flat highway.

The first incident I was travelling on the highway at approx 60-70 mph and attempting to overtake a slower car by switching lanes. As I changed lanes and hit the gas, my Expedition became stuck between gears and lost power until I let off the accelerator and the rpm's came down.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsAre transmission and drivetrain problems common on the 2019 Ford Expedition?
They are documented: NHTSA holds 224 owner complaints naming the transmission and drivetrain on this model year (44% of everything owners filed about it), and 40 manufacturer bulletins, 2 recalls are filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.
Is there a recall for the transmission and drivetrain on the 2019 Ford Expedition?
Yes — 2 campaigns are filed under this heading: 26V402000, 20V263000. A recall is matched by VIN; check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
When do transmission and drivetrain problems show up on the 2019 Ford Expedition?
Owners who gave an odometer reading reported it at a median of 77,000 miles; half of them between 47,000 and 97,000. That is when reports cluster, not the life of a part.
What does NHTSA's "Power Train" heading cover?
The transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, axles and differentials — NHTSA files them under one heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
