Mercedes-Benz service campaign NCU - 2026080001

Mercedes-Benz filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Aug 15, 2026, received Sep 5, 2026, about the electrical system. It names 1 model year (2027). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication

Issue Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year 2027 S-Class (223 platform) vehicles, the software for the 12 V on-board electrical system safety disconnect switch control unit does not correspond to the current series configuration. It is possible that during a workshop visit, the use of an undersized charger could result in undervoltage. If the vehicle detects undervoltage three times in succession, the safety disconnect switch will be permanently locked and prevents the vehicle from starting. Remedy MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the software of the Safety Disconnect Switch for the 12 V On-board electrical system.

One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. Quote it at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.
