Kia service campaign SC343
Kia filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Nov 18, 2025, received Jul 1, 2025, about the electrical system — 8 documents under this number: SC343_TSB_R1, OTA_SC343, SC343_OWNR, SC343_QA and more. It names 1 model year (2025). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationTECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN: PDC LOGIC IMPROVEMENT AND PRA REPLACEMENT FOR DTC PIB7700 (SC343) - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to upgrade the Powernet Domain Control ‘PDC’ system software on certain 2025MY EV6 (CV1a) vehicles produced from December 10, 2024 through June 24, 2025, built at a Kia assembly plant in the US. Due to a PDC software logic error in the subject vehicle, the pre-charge resistor may become damaged if the vehicle is abnormally turned ‘OFF’ (e.g. turned ‘OFF’ while the gear selection is in ‘Neutral’). If the pre-charge resistor becomes damaged, the vehicle may not go into ‘READY’ mode. Customers may experience the illumination of the service warning light, and the vehicle may set DTC P1B7700. If DTC P1B7700 is stored, technicians are to replace the PRA before upgrading the ‘PDC’ software.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Kia SC343 a recall?
No. A service campaign is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the SC343 repair free?
A service campaign is usually paid by the manufacturer on the vehicles it names, within the terms and time limit the document sets; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
Which vehicles does SC343 cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 1 model year: 2025 Kia EV6. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
