What it saysDealer Message - American Honda Motor Co., Inc. NHTSA’s full summary ↓
Honda filed this with NHTSA as a manufacturer communication dated Mar 3, 2026, received Mar 16, 2026, about the engine. It names 6 model years (2023–2025). A manufacturer communication is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationDealer Message - American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) is searching for certain 2023-2025 FHEV Accords & CR-Vs with a customer complaint of an oil leak or a dealer noticing an oil leak from the cylinder head cover gasket during routine maintenance. To better understand the cause of this condition, AHM would like to collect certain parts from the vehicle prior to you attempting a repair of any kind.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

Source: NHTSA complaint databaseOwners of the 6 model years this bulletin names have filed 1,997 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 43 of them name Engine — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.
I purchased a new 2023 Honda Accord from Woodland Hills Honda on 1/20/24. On 1/23/24, I pull into my garage after driving home from work and turn off the car. I get out to an overwhelming smell of gasoline. I inspect the car for visible leaks, which I don’t see, but the gasoline fumes kept growing and spreading throughout my garage.
2023 Honda Accord · Engine · filed with NHTSA Jan 31, 2024 · ODI 11569031
When car is idle and hybrid battery switches to gasoline engine the engine shakes violently and warning lamps and messages for engine and transmission error come on. It's becoming more of a problem and dealerships do not know how to correctly diagnosis it. I've taken my car to the dealership twice and still the problems occur.
2024 Honda CR-V · Engine · filed with NHTSA Jun 23, 2024 · ODI 11595980
This is a complaint about the unresolved recall that I have been put on a waitlist for many months now. The Dealership said that Honda will mail me when the parts will be ready for repaired, but it’s been many months since the NHTSA saying the remedy is available.
2025 Honda CR-V · Engine · filed with NHTSA Nov 30, 2024 · ODI 11628091
A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Honda ATI&03032026905 a recall?
No. A manufacturer communication is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the ATI&03032026905 repair free?
Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Honda warranty extension on file lists the ones Honda has filed.

The manufacturer filed it against 6 model years: 2025 Honda Accord, 2024 Honda Accord, 2023 Honda Accord, 2025 Honda CR-V, 2024 Honda CR-V, 2023 Honda CR-V. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
