What it saysCertain vehicles may have a condition in which the right front brake line contacts the vehicle’s body frame rail. NHTSA’s full summary ↓
GM filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Oct 10, 2024, about the service brakes. It names 5 model years across Chevrolet, GMC and Buick (2024–2025). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says

Certain vehicles may have a condition in which the right front brake line contacts the vehicle’s body frame rail. Dealers will inspect for 5mm brake pipe clearance to vehicle frame rail. If no clearance, create proper clearance using controlled adjustment.

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (5 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches GM’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote.
The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported
Source: NHTSA complaint databaseOwners of the 5 model years this bulletin names have filed 498 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 264 of them name Service Brakes — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.
On the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse, the 12 owners who gave an odometer reading for Service Brakes reported it at a median of 16,000 miles. That figure is one model year’s, not the whole range this bulletin covers — medians from different model years are not averaged.
Purchased new 25 Traverse. Driving from AR to OK, stopped at a store, parked car. Upon returning to car, start ignition and red "BRAKE" light illuminated as well as ABS, Traction control and forward collision icons all lit. "Service brake assist, service esc, rear auto brake and park assist unavailable" warnings all show on the dash.

This happens every single day, not just today, but are two separate issues related to my brakes. 1- squealing brakes. Every single day and for several miles before they warm up. The first time I brought this issue to the attention of the dealership, they replaced the brakes, and there was no squealing for just a few days.
2025 Buick Enclave · Service Brakes · filed with NHTSA Apr 5, 2026 · ODI 11729319
The master brake cylinder failed around the 1600-mile mark. It seems to be occurring on 2025 Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave models. GM has no ETA on replacement parts. I took it to a nearby dealer service center (Dave Kirk Chevrolet in Crossville, TN), and they diagnosed the issue.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

No. A service campaign is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

A service campaign is usually paid by the manufacturer on the vehicles it names, within the terms and time limit the document sets; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

The manufacturer filed it against 5 model years across 3 brands (Chevrolet, GMC and Buick): 2025 Buick Enclave, 2025 Chevrolet Traverse, 2024 Chevrolet Traverse, 2025 GMC Acadia, 2024 GMC Acadia. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
