Problem Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2024 Taycan vehicles. The incorrect headlight control module software may have been installed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Risk Incorrect headlight control module software may cause the parking lights not to operate as intended when the turn signals are activated, which can reduce vehicle visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will update the headlight control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ARB4.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. ARB4 is the number Porsche assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 24V654000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR Part 573

Is ARB4 the same recall as 24V654000?

Which vehicles does ARB4 cover?

2024 Porsche Taycan, 954 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.
