Problem Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2008-2016 Glaval Bus Apollo, Concorde II, Entourage, Legacy, Primetime, Sport, Titan, Titan II, and Titan II Low Floor transit buses manufactured from August 1, 2008, through March 6, 2016. The labels on the rear emergency exit window are not located within 16 centimeters of the release mechanisms as required. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release." Risk If the label is not located the correct distance from the mechanism, it may hinder an occupant's ability to open the emergency window and escape from the vehicle quickly in the event of an emergency. Fix Forest River will notify owners, and provide a new label along with instructions for the correct placement of the label on the window. The label and instructions will be provided free of charge. The recall began on June 9, 2016. Owners may contact Glaval Bus customer service at 1-574-642-3112. Forest River's number for this campaign is 35-04112016-0168.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 35-04112016-0168 is the number Glaval BUS assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 16V217000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
