Polestar 3 electrical problems, 2025–2026

50 of the 79 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the Polestar 3 2025–2026 name the electrical system (NHTSA’s “Electrical System” heading — wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading). The loudest year: 2025 (50). Filed under the same heading across these years: 2 recall campaigns. Every figure is a linked federal record; none is a failure rate, none a repair cost, and none a verdict on one car.

One row per model year on file, newest first. A year marked in depth has its own page: the complaints, the owners’ words and every document under this heading for that year.

Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the electrical system. Nothing here is a rate.

Filed with NHTSA by the people who own these cars, about the electrical system, from the model years with the most to say. Quoted as written, with anything identifying removed; unverified reports — what was said, not a finding that it was true.

The system component that failed was the on-board AC charger (OBC). This failure prevents AC charging of the vehicle. The Polestar - Houston service team has confirmed that this hardware needs replacement. There is currently a 2-3 week wait for part, so vehicle is currently sitting at the service center.
Electrical System May 31, 2025 NHTSA owner report
From the time of purchase, literally since I first got home from the dealership with it, it will NOT AC charge at 110 or 220v. Multiple chargers tested in multiple locations, both home based and commercial (ChargePoint, etc), none will charge. DC fast charge works fine. Stuck with just having to DC fast charge exclusively.
