The air bag light stays on & continually beeps. The manual says there's something wrong with the airbag system. Although I see numerous complaints there's no recalls . I guess Chevrolet is waiting for a fatality before they react to this problem. This happen when the vehicle is in motion & stationary

Are airbag problems common on the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

They are documented: NHTSA holds 264 owner complaints naming the airbags on this model year (73% of everything owners filed about it), and 3 recalls are filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.

Is there a recall for the airbags on the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

Yes — 3 campaigns are filed under this heading: 23V334000, 21V782000, 21V246000. A recall is matched by VIN; check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

When do airbag problems show up on the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

Owners who gave an odometer reading reported it at a median of 38,038 miles; half of them between 26,000 and 50,000. That is when reports cluster, not the life of a part.

What does NHTSA's "Air Bags" heading cover?

Airbags, their sensors and warning lights. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
