Mercedes-Benz bulletin LI83.10-P-075602

What it saysComplaint Noise can be heard coming from the air conditioning system at higher blower motor speeds. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Mercedes-Benz filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Jun 6, 2024, received Feb 3, 2023, about the visibility/wiper — 2 documents under this number. It names 14 model years (2016–2025). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

What the bulletin says

Complaint Noise can be heard coming from the air conditioning system at higher blower motor speeds. Cause Leaves/foreign objects have entered through the water drain grille in the water drain thereby causing an imbalance and noise in the blower wheel. Remedy Remove any leaves/foreign objects from the blower and interior air filter (the blower does NOT need to be replaced). After this, more fine-grained grilles and sealing frames can be used that are better at filtering out leaves / foreign objects. Parts required for retrofitting: Sealing frame (A 247 835 12 00) Sealing frame (A 247 835 11 00) Plug-in mounting (A 000 991 56 04) Housing cover (A 247 830 95 03) Housing cover (A 247 830 63 03) Steps: 1- Remove windshield wiper as per the work instructions AR82.30-P-0001MFA 2- Remove cover for water drain as per the work instructionsAR83.10-P-1411MFB 3- Release threaded connections (5x 10 mm, 2x 8 mm) 4- Fasten released part temporarily using cable tie to hood. 5- Thoroughly clean body between fender and wiper motor then mount the sealing frame (A 247 835 12 00) using the self-adhesive tape. 6- Cut cable tie and insert plastic part again. Then thoroughly clean the area behind the mounted sealing frame. 7- Open plastic cap on firewall then vacuum the filter using a vacuum cleaner. Then tighten the threaded connections again. 8- Finally, insert sealing frame (A 247 835 11 00) and attach to body-in-white using plug-in mounting (A 000 991 56 04) 9 - Clean water drains. 10- Assemble in reverse order. 11- Place housing cover (A 247 830 95 03) and housing cover (A 247 830 63 03) on top of each other.

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (14 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches Mercedes-Benz’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote. Listings and prices on eBay Motors are the seller’s.

Affiliate disclosure: some links on this page are affiliate links. If you request a quote or buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing on this page changes because of it.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Owners of the 14 model years this bulletin names have filed 361 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 4 of them name Visibility/Wiper — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

My 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB has a serious, unresolved safety issue involving the hood-latch warning and windshield wipers. While I am driving, the hood-open warning appears and the windshield wipers cut in and out or shut off unexpectedly. This problem was already occurring by March 2026.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Mercedes-Benz LI83.10-P-075602 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the LI83.10-P-075602 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Mercedes-Benz warranty extension on file lists the ones Mercedes-Benz has filed.

Which vehicles does LI83.10-P-075602 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 14 model years: 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB, 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
