Freightliner service campaign 2025080008

Freightliner filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Sep 4, 2025, received Oct 7, 2025, about the electrical system. It names 5 model years (2019). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication

Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Sprinter vehicles, has determined that on certain Freightliner Sprinter (907 platform) vehicles, has determined the software of the control unit for the anti-theft warning system does not correspond to the current production configuration. There is a possibility that the alarm system (EDW) could be triggered while the vehicle is parked and locked. DVUSA is conducting a service campaign. An authorized Freightliner Sprinter dealer will update the anti-theft system software on the affected vehicles.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5; the full text comes from the manufacturer or a dealer. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. Quote it at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

None of these model years has a page on this site (it covers EPA-certified cars, trucks and SUVs from 2016), so the bulletin is listed here on its own.
