GM bulletin N232432960

What it saysOn certain vehicles, the fuel rail pressure sensors may have been built with output shifts at various temperature and pressure ranges. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

GM filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Mar 20, 2024, about the fuel/propulsion system. It names 8 model years across Chevrolet, GMC and Buick (2024). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

One page for every brand it was filed under. Each brand’s bulletins: Chevrolet · GMC · Buick.

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (3 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches GM’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote. Listings and prices on eBay Motors are the seller’s.

Affiliate disclosure: some links on this page are affiliate links. If you request a quote or buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing on this page changes because of it.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 8 model years this bulletin names have filed 1,391 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 97 of them name Fuel/Propulsion System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

Vehicle was started and started misfiring and then shut off, no check engine lights came on. Tried to restart the car and it continued to misfire but eventually stopped. Car also misfires sometimes after refueling. Car was taken to dealership to be looked at and there were no findings of any issues, they suggested it was bad gas

2024 Buick Encore · Fuel/Propulsion System · filed with NHTSA Nov 20, 2025

On , about 400 miles into our trip heading South on , the Engine Reduced Power Warning came on. We were in the fast lane traveling at 70 MPH,the car immediately slowed to about 30 mph. There was no prior warning or check engine light. Vehicles behind us had to swerved and change lanes to avoid hitting us.

2024 Chevrolet Equinox · Fuel/Propulsion System · filed with NHTSA Jul 8, 2025

Fuel System Control Module went out abruptly and without warning resulting in the vehicle and occupant being stranded on highway. This was a brand new vehicle with only 320 miles on the odometer, and happened after only 6 days of ownership. The dangerous nature of above situation is self evident.

2024 Chevrolet Tahoe · Fuel/Propulsion System · filed with NHTSA Jan 21, 2025

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is GM N232432960 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the N232432960 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does N232432960 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 8 model years across 3 brands (Chevrolet, GMC and Buick): 2024 Buick Encore, 2024 Chevrolet Equinox, 2024 Chevrolet Silverado, 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2024 Chevrolet Trax, 2024 GMC Sierra and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
