What it saysEngine Lubricating Oil - Replenishment. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Bentley filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Jul 16, 2026, received Jul 31, 2026, about the engine. It names 29 model years (2017–2027). The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Owners of the 25 model years this bulletin names have filed 20 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 9 of them name Electrical System, Engine — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

There’s sudden PDC fault arises, the vehicle’s all radar system is broken. Sometimes, the dashboard will be turned off during driving. WHEN PDC fault appears, the rear view camera when parking does not appear. Very dangerous while manipulating the car. This is a common issue in 2020 Bentley Flying Spur. I’ve done research with engineers.

The front door wiring has design issues in 2020 Bentley Flying Spur. The length of the wire related to keyless entry is not enough. Thus cause the front doors keyless entry/unlock and lock the car through door handles malfunction. This is a very common issue you can searched on internet that many 2020 Flying Spur are having this problem.

The auto start on this Bentley bentagya most of the time does not work properly, but as I AM now over 12,000 miles it has started to cause the car to call at odd times. For example coming out of a parking space the car stalled leaving me half in and half out the space. It also stalled at a traffic light 3 days ago.

2017 Bentley Bentayga · Engine · filed with NHTSA Sep 2, 2017

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Bentley 2057978/10 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the 2057978/10 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

The manufacturer filed it against 29 model years: 2027 Bentley Bentayga, 2026 Bentley Bentayga, 2025 Bentley Bentayga, 2023 Bentley Bentayga, 2022 Bentley Bentayga, 2021 Bentley Bentayga and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
