Problem Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Van trailers manufactured with flat bottom floors that are equipped with aerodynamic skirts. The aerodynamic skirts attached to the van trailers may come loose. Risk If the aerodynamic skirt detaches while the trailer is moving it may increase the risk of a crash or injury. Fix Wabash has notified owners, and dealers will rework the safety tether assembly to keep the skirt attached, free of charge. The recall began September 21, 2020. Owners may contact Wabash's customer service at 765-771-5404. Wabash's number for this recall is B20012.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. B20012 is the number Wabash National assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 20V551000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions
