Problem Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024-2027 VNL (4) vehicles that do not include auxiliary parking brakes. If the vehicle is in weight bias mode there may not be enough weight on the parking brake axle, which could result in inadequate parking brake force. Risk Inadequate parking brake force can result in a rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will replace the brake chambers, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 29, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2601. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning Feb 17, 2026.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. RVXX2601 is the number Volvo assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 26V076000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Is RVXX2601 the same recall as 26V076000?

Yes. RVXX2601 is Volvo’s own number for it; 26V076000 is NHTSA’s. One recall, two references.

Which vehicles does RVXX2601 cover?

2024–2027 Volvo VNL (4), 800 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.
