Problem Triple E Recreational Vehicles (Triple E) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Wonder recreational vehicles equipped with a trailer tow module. Water can enter the tow modules and corrode the wiring causing issues such as rapidly flashing turn signals, loss of instrument panel display, an electrical short and possibly the deployment of seatbelt pretensioner. Risk An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire. Turn signal, instrument cluster or seatbelt pretensioner problems can increase the risk of a crash. Fix Triple E has notified owners, and dealers will add a drainage hole in the driver's door stepwell and incorporate a fuse into the vehicle's wiring harness, free of charge. The recall began on June 27, 2018. Owners may contact Triple E customer service at 1-877-992-9906 or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Triple E's number for this recall is CA#9030-1.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. CA#9030-1 is the number Triple E RV assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 18V422000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
