Problem Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Sequence and Tellaro motorhomes. The dinette booth seat belts may be too short preventing them from being usable by some occupants. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies." Risk Inability to use the seat belt may increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Fix TMC will notify owners, and dealers will replace the 18-inch seat belt tether with a 24-inch tether on both sides of the dinette booth, free of charge. This recall began September 16, 2020. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000198.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. RC000198 is the number Thor Motor Coach assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 20V424000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
