Problem Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Tuscany XTE (models 34ST, 36MQ, 40AX, 40BX, 40EX and 40GQ), 2013-2018 Tuscany (models 38SQ, 40DX, 40KQ, 40RX, 42GX, 42HQ, 42WX, 44MT 45AT and 45LT) and 2016-2020 Venetian (models A40, B42, F42, G36, J40, L40, M37, R40, S40, and T42) motorhomes. The rear reflectors within the taillight lens may be too high, reducing the vehicle's visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Risk The incorrectly positioned reflectors may make the motorhome less visible to others on the road, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix TMC will notify owners, and dealers will install adhesive reflectors, free of charge. The recall began January 2, 2020. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000180.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. RC000180 is the number Thor Motor Coach assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 19V799000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
