Problem Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Tuscany motorhomes manufactured February 28, 2013, to August 31, 2015. The throttle pedal position sensor on the affected vehicles may not return to zero, causing the engine brake to suddenly not activate as expected, reducing the vehicle's deceleration ability. Risk A sudden loss of an engine brake without warning on a motorhome may lead to a reduced brake capacity, potentially increasing the risk of a crash. Fix TMC will notify owners, and dealers for Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), manufacturer of the motorhome chassis, will replace the throttle pedal, free of charge. The recall began on July 15, 2016. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020 or Daimler Warranty Campaign Department at 1-800-547-0712 or by email at DTNA. Warranty. Campaigns@Daimler.com. TMC's number for this recall is RC000119.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. RC000119 is the number Thor Motor Coach assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 16V469000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
