Problem Temp-Air, Inc. (Temp-Air) is recalling certain 2017-2019 EBB-80 trailers. An incorrect hitch coupling may have been installed that limits the adjustability of the hitch possibly causing the trailer receiver angle to be improper. Risk If the user cannot properly adjust the hitch height to ensure proper trailer leveling, the trailer may suddenly drag, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Temp-Rail will notify owners, and will replace the hitch rail with the correct one, free of charge. The recall began November 6, 2019. Owners may contact Temp-Rail customer service at 1-952-894-3000.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. Advisory Bulletin 9 is the number Temp AIR assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 19V778000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
