Problem Summit Bodyworks (Summit) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Ford Transit 350 vehicles equipped with certain Cummins Onan QG 2800i, and Onan QG 2800i EVAP generator sets. The fuel hose between the fuel filter and Injection Pump Module (IPM) may not be properly secured, which can cause a gas leak. Risk A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Fix Cummins will inspect and replace the fuel hose and clamps as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 26, 2023. Owners may contact Summit's customer service at 1-303-348-2681. Summit's number for this recall is PG5215.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. PG5215 is the number Summit Bodyworks assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 23V517000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
