Problem Tracker Marine, LLC (Tracker) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Trailstar and Ranger Trail boat trailers. Please refer to the attached document for the full list of affected model numbers. The axle hubs were not tightened properly, which can cause the hubs to seize while in motion. Risk Seized trailer hubs can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will inspect and tighten the hubs, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in June, 2022. Owners are advised to drive at reduced speeds and not tow a boat, until the remedy has been performed. Owners may contact Tracker's customer service at 1-417-873-4555. Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. TS-0041 is the number Ranger Trail assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 22V343000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR Part 573

Is TS-0041 the same recall as 22V343000?

Yes. TS-0041 is Ranger Trail’s own number for it; 22V343000 is NHTSA’s. One recall, two references.

Which vehicles does TS-0041 cover?

2020–2023 Ranger Trail and Trailstar, 27,078 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.

Does the TS-0041 repair cost anything?

No. The manufacturer must remedy a safety defect at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from first sale.
