Problem Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2021 Prime Time Tracer TRT26KSS travel trailers. The tail light may be located too close to the water heater exhaust, which can cause the tail light lens to melt and the light to become inoperative. Risk A distorted or inoperative tail light may reduce vehicle visibility and confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will install a flush mount tail light, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 26, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River's customer service at 1-574-862-1025. Forest River's number for this recall is 48-1541.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 48-1541 is the number Prime Time assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 22V586000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
