Problem Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2015-2021 Arrow XT, Enforcer, Quantum and Velocity fire trucks. The fuel tubes between the fuel rail and the injectors for cylinders four, five, and six may fatigue and crack, which can result in a high pressure fuel leak. Risk A high pressure fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire. Fix On engines with 75 miles or less, dealers will install vibration isolators to the fuel tubes. Engines with more than 75 miles will receive new fuel tubes with vibration isolators, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 11, 2022. Owners may contact Pierce's customer service at 1-888-974-3723.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. Cummins 21E-099 is the number Pierce assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 22V032000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
