Problem Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Arrow XT, Enforcer, and Velocity mid-mount tower trucks equipped with an aerial platform basket. The electrical connector to the aerial turntable wiring harness may not be properly secured, which can result in connector corrosion and affect the leveling ability of the platform basket. Risk An inability for the platform basket to maintain level can result in the basket tipping, increasing the risk of injury. Fix Pierce will replace the aerial turntable wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 14, 2023. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B330.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 74B330 is the number Pierce assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 23V823000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
