Problem Outdoors RV Manufacturing (ORV) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Trail Series MTN TRX 22TRX toyhauler travel trailers. The axles may be incorrectly mounted too far forward, potentially causing light tongue weight on the tow vehicle. Risk Light tongue weight can lead to unsafe towing conditions including trailer sway and/or the trailer becoming separated from the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix ORV will notify owners, and dealers will move the axles 10 inches back towards the rear of the trailer to increase the tongue weight, free of charge. The recall began October 11, 2019. Owners may contact ORV customer service at 1-541-962-1866, extension 222. ORV's number for this recall is 2019-001.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 2019-001 is the number Outdoors RV assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 19V708000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
