Problem Oshkosh Corporation (Oshkosh Defense) is recalling certain 2025 NGDV delivery vehicles. The air bag warning label on the sun visor may detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." Risk A missing label cannot warn occupants about the risks of air bag deployment, increasing the risk of injury during a crash. Fix Oshkosh Defense will replace the sun visor assembly and add an electric shock warning label as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2025. Owners may contact Oshkosh customer service at 1-833-304-8100. Oshkosh's number for this recall is NGDV_TSB_040.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. NGDV_TSB_040 is the number Oshkosh assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 25V444000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
