Problem Orange EV is recalling certain 2023-2024 HUSK-e XP terminal trucks. The rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) on the federal placard is incorrect and the installed tires and rims may be inadequate for the truck's intended use. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars." Risk An incorrect GAWR and an inadequate tire and rim combination can lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix OEV will replace the federal placard, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 18, 2025. Owners may contact Orange EV customer service at 1-866-688-5223.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 2025-SRC-01 is the number Orange EV assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 25V122000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
