Problem Oliver Travel Trailers Inc. (Oliver) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Elite II travel trailers. The nuts and bolts that secure the brake drum to the axle shaft flange may not have been properly tightened. Risk The improperly tightened axle bolts/nuts may affect the trailer's braking ability or result in the hub and wheel becoming detached from the axle, increasing the risk of crash. Fix Oliver has notified owners, and Dexter Axle dealers will retorque the bolts, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began December 20, 2019. Owners may contact Oliver customer service at 1-866-205-2621 or Dexter Axle customer service at 1-574-295-7888. Oliver's number for this recall is 1ZP-ABC19-12.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 1ZP-ABC19-12 is the number Oliver Travel Trailers assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 19V897000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
