Problem Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2012, 2015-2019, and 2024 G5 school buses equipped with Type 2 seat belts. The seat reinforcement supports may not have been installed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages." Risk An insufficiently retained seat can detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Fix Dealers will install reinforcement supports, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 21, 2025. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 25-113-FUS.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 25-113-FUS is the number Micro Bird assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 25V190000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
