Problem Corp. Micro Bird Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Micro Bird G5, MB II, and T-Series school buses. During manufacturing, the seat belt anchorage plate may not have been correctly attached to the wall, limiting the capacity of the shoulder belt to restrain a passenger in the event of a crash. Risk If the belt anchorage plate detaches from the wall and cannot properly restrain a passenger it can increase the risk of injury. Fix Micro Bird Corporation will provide inspection and field modification instructions, and the material kit required to complete this recall repair, free of charge. The recall began September 26, 2018. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 18-075-CUS.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 18-075-CUS is the number Micro Bird assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 18V516000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
