Problem McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McClaren) is recalling certain 2021 765LT Coupe vehicles. The rear cabin window may have insufficient adhesive bonding, which can allow the window to detach from the support frame. Risk A rear window that detaches from the vehicle can create a road hazard for other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will install bespoke fasteners into each corner of the polycarbonate panel, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed on December 4, 2024. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available, anticipated late September 2025. Owners may contact McClaren customer service at 1-646-429-8916. McClaren's number for this recall is 2024/002.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 2024/002 is the number Mclaren assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 24V901000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
