Problem Marion Body Works Inc. (Marion Body Works) is recalling one 2018 International SR525 emergency vehicle equipped with feature codes 12VXT or 12VXU. With the parking brake applied and the automatic transmission in the 'Drive' or 'Reverse' position, and when the stationary PTO switch is engaged by the operator, the engine RPM will ramp up and may overcome the parking brake's ability to hold the vehicle. Risk Unintended vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash. Fix Marion Body Works will update the Engine Control Module to enable the PTO neutral interlock, free of charge. The affected vehicle is within manufacturer's control, and therefore no owner notification letter will be mailed. Owners may contact Marion's customer service at 1-715-754-5261. Marion's number for this recall is 19V-841.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 19V-841 is the number Marion Body Works assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 22V172000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
