Problem Lamborghini (Automobili Lamborghini) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Urus Performante and Urus S vehicles. The hood latch striker may separate and fail, resulting in an unlatched hood that can open or detach while driving. Risk A hood that opens while driving can detach and become a road hazard, or obstruct the driver's view, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will inspect and repair the hood, and install a striker support plate if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 12, 2024. Owners may contact Lamborghini customer service at 1-866-681-6276. Lamborghini's number for this recall is L636-R.02.24.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. L636-R.02.24 is the number Lamborghini assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 24V348000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
