Problem Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020 Hideout 290LHS recreational trailers. These vehicles were incorrectly built with 3500 pound axles and ST205/75R14D tires and rims rather than the 4400 pound axles and ST225/75R15D tires and rims as specified on the Federal Identification Tag. Risk The incorrect axle, tires and rims can result in the operator overloading the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect axle, tires, and rims with 4400 pound axles, ST225/75R15D tires and matching rims, free of charge. The recall began October 16, 2020. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 20-388.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 20-388 is the number Keystone assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 20V606000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
