Problem Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2019 Keystone Summerland recreational trailers, models 1800BH, 1760BH, 1750RD. These trailers have single propane bottle brackets with two mounting legs that may break at the mounting point. Risk If the LP bracket ring bracket breaks, the propane cylinder may detach from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash. Fix Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the existing LP bottle ring mounting bracket with a 3-legged bracket, free of charge. The recall began on August 24, 2018. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 18-328.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 18-328 is the number Keystone assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 18V499000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
