Problem Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain model year 2017 Jay Flight SLX travel trailers, model 212 QBW, manufactured June 27, 2016, to June 28, 2016. The affected vehicles were manufactured with Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) and Tire Labels indicating incorrect vehicle weight. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Risk Incorrect weight on labels can allow the operator to overload the vehicle, affecting vehicle handling, and increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Jayco has notified the dealers that have the affected trailers and supplied them with corrected labels, free of charge. The recall began July 6, 2016. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-2833-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901300.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 9901300 is the number Jayco Travel Trailer assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 16V514000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
