Problem Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Entegra Qwest, Jayco Melbourne, and Melbourne Prestige motorhomes. The shim on the torsion bar was incorrectly installed between the nut and the torsion bar, rather than between the ball stud and the torsion bar. Risk An incorrectly assembled torsion bar may fail at the connection between the torsion bar and linkage, resulting in a loss of vehicle stability, and increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will replace the torsion bar linkage and correct the position of the shim, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 29, 2022. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is MB 22V-131.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. MB 22V-131 is the number Jayco assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 22V663000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR Part 573

Is MB 22V-131 the same recall as 22V663000?

Yes. MB 22V-131 is Jayco’s own number for it; 22V663000 is NHTSA’s. One recall, two references.

Which vehicles does MB 22V-131 cover?

2021–2022 Entegra and Jayco, 245 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.

No. The manufacturer must remedy a safety defect at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from first sale.
