Problem Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Jaguar XE vehicles. Due to wiring damage in the trunk, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display. Risk A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will inspect and repair, or replace the rearview camera wiring harness, as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed February 2, 2026. Owners may contact Jaguar's customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H535. This recall replaces and expands previous recall number 23V-501. Vehicles already repaired under recall 23V-501 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. H535 is the number Jaguar assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 25V017000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR Part 573

Is H535 the same recall as 25V017000?

Yes. H535 is Jaguar’s own number for it; 25V017000 is NHTSA’s. One recall, two references.

Which vehicles does H535 cover?

2019–2020 Jaguar XE, 5,329 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.

Does the H535 repair cost anything?

No. The manufacturer must remedy a safety defect at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from first sale.
