Problem Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2025 FTR vehicles. The tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure. Risk Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod and center link assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still within dealer inventory and therefore no owner notification letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2402.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. V2402 is the number Isuzu assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 24V467000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions
