Problem Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Vista Cruisers and 2016-2018 Vintage Cruiser travel trailers. The Tire Identification Label incorrectly states that the trailers are equipped with ST215/75R 14 Load Range C rated tires when actually they have ST205/65R 14 Load Range D rated tires. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 567, "Certification." Risk The incorrect information may cause the user to install the wrong replacement tire, affecting the vehicle's handling, thereby increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Gulf Stream will notify owners and will provide them a corrected Tire Identification Label, free of charge. The recall began on June 26, 2017. Owners may contact Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787. Gulf Stream's number for this recall is GS250517.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. GS250517 is the number Gulf Stream assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 17V344000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
