Problem Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Conquest and B Touring Cruiser Class C motorhomes manufactured September 24, 2015 through October 24, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the in-dash radio unit assembly was improperly wired allowing the DVD to operate while the vehicle is in motion. Risk If the DVD monitor is operating and viewable while the vehicle is in motion, it may be a distraction to the driver, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Gulf Stream will notify owners, and dealers will disable the viewing of the DVD monitor while the vehicle is being driven, free of charge. The recall began on December 16, 2016. Owners may contact the Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787. Gulf Stream's number for this recall is GM112316.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. GM112316 is the number Gulf Stream assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 16V851000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
