Problem Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2022 Reflection and Transcend travel trailers, equipped with a 50-amp shore power inlet. The power inlet lug bolts may have been manufactured with excessively hard metal, preventing them from being tightened properly and resulting in a loose wiring connection. Risk Loose wiring can cause an electrical arc or short, increasing the risk of fire. Fix Dealers will inspect and replace the power inlet, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2022. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910028.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 910028 is the number Grand Design assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 22V203000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
